Are our children too busy to be creative?
Great opinion piece by Daniel Baird in The Toronto Star on the current culture of constant programming for our children...
"This week countless children will load up their new backpacks with note pads and pencils and laptops and lunch and head off to school, and soon enough they will be trudging home exhausted and stressed out by homework and all of the extracurricular activities they have taken on. But while the skills instilled by teachers are crucial, in many ways taking time simply to let oneâs mind wander in no direction in particular is equally important. Itâs how we become who we are. And our future depends on it."
